Caspers Wilderness Park Camping Guide Continued

Caspers Wilderness County Park has 2 campgrounds (Live Oak and Ortega Flats) and a nice large campground for horses (with about 30 sites). Live Oak campground is set among some very large oak trees and has 42 campsites – some with more shade than others. Ortega Flats campground has 13 campsites, some with shade. The campgrounds have dirt roads and pads, and are well maintained.

Caspers Wilderness Park is located approximately 7-1/2 miles inland from the City of San Juan Capistrano in Southern Orange County. To reach the park, take the Santa Ana (5) or San Diego (405) Freeway to the Ortega Highway (74) exit at San Juan Capistrano, Ortega Highway off ramp. Turn due east, inland, along Ortega Highway and proceed 7-1/2 miles to the park entrance.
