Badlands National Park in South Dakota offers many striking geologic features and contain one of the world’s richest fossil beds. The Park’s 244,000 acres include an expanse of mixed-grass prairie where bison, bighorn sheep, prairie dogs and black-footed ferrets live. The Park has a lodge, campgrounds, a visitor center, restaurant, gift shop, cultural exhibits and many hiking trails.
