The site of the first landing of settlers to Virginia, First Landing State Park is Virginia’s most popular and is located minutes from many Virginia Beach tourist attractions. This 2,888-acre park has many interactive displays, three indoor aquariums, a visitor center, hot showers and an abundance of outdoor recreation and water sports. Seasonal programs include those sponsored by the Virginia Marine Science Museum and an Arts-in-the-Parks series. Unguarded beach swimming on the Chesapeake Bay is available. A boat launch is available with access to the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean.
