Glacier View Camping Guide

6500-foot elevation. 65 campsites on the north shore of Redfish Lake. At least 8 sites can accommodate up to 16 campers. North Shore Picnic Area is across the road and can be reserved for groups. Great angling for trout in the lake. Take a short tour on the interpretive Fishhook Nature Trail, or a longer walk west into the Sawtooth Wilderness to battle wild cutthroat in the alpine lakes. Visitor Center offers area information and interpretive programs. Boat ramp at Sandy Beach Boat Launch, on the east shore of the lake. Waterskiing, sailing, swimming, wading, canoeing, motor boating and of course, fishing are all great ways to enjoy the waters. A section of the Idaho Centennial Trail passes near here. Equestrian stables, dump station, and boat rentals can be found at Redfish Lake Lodge. Three small playgrounds are provided for children in the campground. Campground is in a lodgepole pine forest. Location: From Stanley, go 4.5 miles south on ID 75 and 2.5 miles south on Forest Road 214.
