Limestone Camping Guide

The Sequoia National Forest, named for the world’s largest trees, celebrates the greatest concentration of giant sequoia groves in the world. Protected within the Giant Sequoia National Monument, these groves and the areas around them are managed by the forest Service for you and the benefit of generations to come. These giants may be enjoyed as you hike, ride horse back or mountain bike one of many trails.

This campground is located in the southern section of the Sequoia National Forest (about 50 miles south of the big trees) and very close to the town of Kernville. Kernville has a large tourist industry centered on white water rafting down the rapids of the Kern River. One can also enjoy mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities. Fishing is extremely popular and the golden trout is highly sought after for catch and release fishing by fly fishermen.  Lake Isabella is just 5 miles away and offers a variety of water sports including water-skiing, sail-boarding, fishing, swimming and other activities.
