Lost Dutchman State Park Camping Guide

Lost Dutchman State Park is named after the legendary lost gold mine and is located 40 miles east of Phoenix in the Sonoran Desert at an elevation of 2,000 feet. The Park offers great hiking opportunities with several trails leading from the park into the Superstition Wilderness (the location of the lost gold mine). Along the trails (and from the campground) you’ll enjoy spectacular desert scenery, wildflowers (depending on the year’s rainfall), and you might even spot some mule deer, coyote or a javelina or two.
