Mt. Diablo State Park is set around the 3,849 foot summit and offers several trails to explore by foot or horseback. The park has 3 campgrounds and several picnic areas where you can enjoy spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay area and surrounding areas. In fact, on a clear day you can even see Half Dome at Yosemite National Park, Mt. Lassen to the north and many other landmarks. The park is famous for its many distinctive rock formations, hiking trails, scenery and wildlife viewing. It is also a favorite location for bicyclists who like to climb the road up to the park entrance and beyond.
