Nevada Beach Campground
Nevada Beach Camping Guide
At 6,225 feet in elevation, the Nevada Beach Campground and Picnic Area is situated on the sandy shore of Lake Tahoe. The campground has 54 camping site and 25 picnic sites nestled among native pine trees, it is a quiet beach location that offers a wide range of recreational activities. Nevada Beach is about ¾ of a mile long and it is wider than any Tahoe beach. In some cases the sand is over 300 yards wide. The camping areas are mostly located back up the hill in the forested areas, but there are several on the southern end that are in the sandy areas.
These spots are hurting for shade however. The beach, along with being the widest, is probably the lake's windiest. The upside is that these winds can keep the bugs away at times. Additionally, it is the favored area of Lake Tahoe's kiteboarding set. For beachgoers, there is a $5.00/car parking fee. A season pass can be purchased which also includes Pope Beach and Baldwin Beach.
