Patagonia State Park is located close to the border at an elevation of 3,750 about 12 miles north of Nogales. Patagonia State Park was established in 1975 and is a great place to see wildlife in the hills and along the shoreline of Patagonia lake. The 265-acre lake is a good place to fish for bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish. Trout is stocked from October through March. There are also some nice trails in the area to hike and see wildlife and historic sites such as the remnants of the old New Mexico/Arizona railroad.
