The campground stretches out in two sections along the American River in a stand of mixed conifers including White and Douglas fir. There is a grass and wildflower meadow at east end of campground. The campground is close enough to State Rt. 410 for an overnight stop but its tranquil atmosphere beckons visitors to stay longer. Traffic noise is minimal. Privacy is good. See the huge red ant hills along the Pleasant Valley Nature Trail -advise against taking dogs on the trail.
DIRECTIONS: From Cliffdell, WA, take State Rt. 410 west 15.2 miles to campground on left.
