Saddleback Butte State Park is located in the high-desert area near Lancaster, California and closer to the town of Lake Los Angeles. The Park was established in 1960 to preserve its high-desert Joshua tree woodland. From the campground you’ll enjoy nice views of the 3,651 Saddleback Butte and can hike/explore the desert area on trails. Nights are clear for stargazing and wildflowers can be found in the spring.
The campground has 40 campsites and most have shade shelters. There are no hookups available. Each has a table, fire ring and grill. The campground could use some TLC though as some shelters are in a bit of disrepair. There is a nice modern restroom with flush toilets and sinks. Water is available at this campground.
