San Elijo State Beach Campground is rather oddly squeezed on a three-quarter mile strip of land between the highway, railroad tracks, and the great blue sea. The developed side of the site doesn't deter visitors though, as over 500,000 guests visit annually!
This state campground offers 171 spaces for tents or RVs up to 35 feet long, with picnic tables, fire grills, and fresh water.
Flush toilets and showers are supplied in the new family-style restrooms. A dump station and full hookups are available for RVs. A small store is also on site. Several of the sites are handicapped accessible as is the store.
