St. Joseph Peninsula State Park has miles of white sand beaches, striking dune formations, a heavily forested interior, and a favorable climate for year-round outdoor recreation. The 2516 acre park is surrounded on two sides by the waters of St. Joseph's Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. An isolated 1750 acre Wilderness Preserve occupies the tip of the peninsula. Shady Pines Campground is one of two camping areas located in St Josepha Peninsula State Park. The Shady Pines camping area has 58 campsites (number 61 to 119). There are RV hookups at this facility and the campground has flush toilets and hot showers. Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grill. Group camping is also available.
