McConnell State Recreation Area Overview

McConnell State Recreation Area 002

McConnell State Recreation Area Campground has 21 spacious campsites and is located along the banks of the Merced River. The campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 30 feet), with each campsite having a table, fire ring and grate. Our favorite campsites are 11, 12, 13 and 18. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host.

The campground has drinking water, flush toilets and hot showers($). Group camping is also available.

McConnell State Recreation Area Info

McConnell State Recreation Area’s outdoor recreation includes some great fishing, camping, canoe/kayaking, hiking, biking, tubing, swimming and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also nice in the area.

Turlock Lake State Recreation Area is also 29 miles away and has 62 campsites available.
