Best Campgrounds to Watch Lake Tahoe Fireworks

If you’re thinking about camping up at Lake Tahoe over Independence Day, the best campgrounds to watch Lake Tahoe fireworks this year are at Nevada Beach, D.L. Bliss State Park, Meeks Bay and Emerald Bay State Park. And as luck would have it, we recently updated all of the campsite photos for Emerald Bay and Meeks Bay campgrounds!

The fireworks display at South Lake Tahoe (“The Lights on the Lake Fireworks”) is one of the best in the country (so says NBC’s Today Show), and you can have a pretty sweet spot to watch if you have a campsite at one of these campgrounds.

Nevada Beach
Nevada Beach is probably the best campground to view the 4th of July fireworks at South Lake Tahoe.  The campground is really close to the water’s edge and has a beautiful mile-long beach to lay a towel down to watch the fireworks display. Nevada Beach campground has 54 campsites (some with views of the lake) for tents, trailers and RVs.

D.L. Bliss State Park
The campground at D.L. Bliss State Park is a little bit farther from the fireworks (as the crow flies) compared to Nevada Beach, but the campground is adjacent to one of the prettiest beaches on Lake Tahoe at Rubicon Bay. Just a short walk from your campsite to the beach and you’ll have some great views of the fireworks. D. L. Bliss campground has 165 campsites and is very popular, as is the beach/day-use area.

Emerald Bay State Park
Emerald Bay (Eagle Point) campground has 97 campsites that overlook beautiful Lake Tahoe, and although you probably won’t get much of a view of the fireworks from any campsite; you will if you stroll on down the Rubicon Trail (toward Lower Eagle Point Campground) to the waterfront or hike up to the ridge above the campground.

Meeks Bay
Meeks Bay is just a bit north of D.L. Bliss State Park, but the beach next to the campground also will give you a nice view of the fireworks.  The 40 campsites are just a few hundred feet from the shores of Lake Tahoe.
