Mingus Mountain Campground
Mingus Mountain is located at 7,200 feet and it has some fantastic views of the Verde River Valley and red rocks of Sedona.  It’s also about a 30 minute drive from Jerome ghost town.  The campground is very nice and sits among a beautiful forest of large pine trees. Keep in mind that you’ll need to take a 3-mile dirt road to get to the campground. It has vault toilets, but no drinking water. It’s a great place to ride your OHV, horse, mountain bike, hike or stargaze!

A-loop has 28 sites for tents, trailers and RVS. B-loop has 12 campsites (close-together) with electric hookups (30 amp). The campground has drinking water and vault toilets.

  1. Prescott really looks like got lots of wonderful campgrounds from the river side up the hill top. Great choices for campers to experience both places.

  2. Would like to know if we need reservation for 3 4 5 of September for a group of 15 persons

    • The campgrounds in the Prescott Area are probably already sold out that weekend (Labor Day Holiday weekend), but you can visit the campground page and click on the “Make A Reservation” button to check availability, pricing and make reservations. The first-come, first-serve campgrounds will most likely fill up by Wednesday, (Sep 1) through the weekend.
