Tar Camp has 58 campsites (45 with electric and water hookups) and is located near Pool 5 Lock and Dam next to the Arkansas River.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 58 feet). Each campsite also has a table, BBQ pedestal, lantern post, shade ramada and paved parking pad. Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers, trash collection and a dump station. There are also 2 large group picnic shelters (up to 60 people each), a rock climbing wall, playground and basketball court.
Other campgrounds nearby include Ste Marie Park (16 miles) and Willow Beach (17 miles).
The area is famous for its first-class fishing. Other fun includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, hiking, biking, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Little Rock, the state capital and largest city in Arkansas, is also a short drive away and offers many amenities and cultural attractions.
