Indian Garden Overview

Indian Garden campground has 16 tent campsites and is located in the Grand Canyon along the Bright Angel creek. Campers can reach the campground via the Bright Angel Trail and is 4.8 miles below the South Rim. Campers can spend two consecutive nights at the campground (per hike), except during Nov 15 – Feb 28 when you can stay up to four consecutive nights per hike.
Each site has a table, two ammo boxes (for food storage), a pack pole (to hang your gear) and shade structure. The campground also has a ranger station, drinking water and vault toilets. Campers must obtain a Backcountry Permit to stay overnight at Indian Garden campground. Plan on making reservations well in advance for the popular months (spring through fall).
Bright Angel Campground has 33 campsites and is located at the bottom of the Grand Canyon close to Phantom Ranch. Cottonwood is another backcountry campground located next to the North Kaibab Trail.
