The campground is open mid-May to mid-October and is adjacent to the highway. Some campsites are next to the road.   The campground has a campfire center, drinking water, vault toilets and a campground host. There’s also a restaurant, gift shop/store and gas station across the street. The campground  is one mile from Jacob Lake. However, water levels vary throughout the season. Each campsite has a table, lantern post, fire ring and grate.

Jacob Lake Recreation area is the gateway to the Grand Canyon’s North Rim and is a good alternate if the North Rim Campground is full. Outdoor activities in the area include hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing.
