The campground is well constructed with pit toilets, grills, fire pits, and picnic tables but when we were there it looked like it had not been cleaned in quite a while. All of the trash bins were overflowing to the point where folks had left their trash at the side of the bins. Lots of litter around. This place really needs a more diligent management.

  2. The camp ground has a gorgeous view. There is a picnic bench, shade, fire pit and grill at every site. There are two vault toilets at the main camp area, which is below the group camp area that also has a vault toilet.
The vault toilets have not been cleaned in some time. There was feces all across the back of the toilet and it was covered in dirt/dust. I would suggest bringing some wipes to clean the toilet down. There also was a lack of toilet paper, bring some of your own, just incase.
The trash was full throughout the campsite, we ended up having to haul ours out. I would suggest bringing garbage bags to so the same.

The off road trails are gorgeous! The rocks have beautiful coloring and there are many, many times to cross the river and go explore. I do plan on going back.

    • Hi Candy,
Thanks for the review on Afton Canyon. Too bad the toilets and trash cans were out of sorts. I’m sure the BLM rangers will get out there soon to clean up.
The area sure is a beautiful/magical place!
