Big Reservoir (aka Morning Star Lake) Campground has 100 single-family campsites and is located right next to the lake at an elevation of about 4,000 feet. Most sites have nice views of the water. Group camping is also available. You can make reservations by calling 530 367-2129.

Amenities include potable (drinking) water (pipe/spigot), vault toilets, showers, RV sanitation dump station and trash collection. There is also a small camp store with firewood, ice and supplies.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation includes fishing, boating (non-gas engines), kayaking, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Paddle-boat rentals are also available and there is a fee charged for fishing access.

Other campgrounds in the area include Giant Gap, Shirttail Creek and Forbes Creek Group.
