Buckeye Flat Campground has 28 campsites and is located in a stand of oak trees along the middle fork of the Kaweah River in Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park. Campsites can accommodate tents only and you can have up to 1 vehicle and 6 people per site.
Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. There are no hookups at this campground. Overflow (extra vehicle) parking is available over at the Hospital Rock picnic area parking lot (about .8 miles from the campground. Cell service is not available in the area. You can also find a cafe, camping supplies, firewood, ice and other food services within 10 miles of the campground.
Reservations are accepted late March to late September. Sites are first-come first-serve late September through late October.
Buckeye Flat – Area Recreation
Outdoor recreation includes rafting, kayaking, fishing, hiking, biking, photography, and wildlife viewing. There is also a decent swimming hole just below the campground, but mind the waterfalls and swift current elsewhere. The Giant Forest is also a short 30-minute drive where you’ll find the largest trees on Earth. Popular hiking trails close to Buckeye Flat campground include Paradise Creek, Middle Fork, Moro Rock and Marble Falls.
Other campground options in Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park are Sunset, Azalea, Dorst Creek, Lodgepole and Crystal Springs.

Is there any hook up for RV

There are no hookups at Buckeye Flat campground.
Dear Camp Ranger,
Are TV’s allowed in Buck Eye Flat Campgrounds and if so is there any limitations?
Or is it restricted to tents only?

Buckeye Flat campsites are tent-only, no RVs or trailers. Generators are not allowed either.
Which campsite is closets to the Toilet?

We’ll be staying at site 19 next week, can’t wait! Is this site correct in saying there is potable/drinking water at this campground?

Do we have to bring our own Tent?

Weather looks to be nice this weekend up at Buckeye Flat campground (low 70s high / mid 40s low), so the campground should be a least half occupied. With that said, your chances are good that there will be at least a few campsites available Saturday morning. Arriving Friday evening would be best though.
I made a reservation for my family of 5 at site 3. We have two 10 man tents and a 5×7 utility trailer pulled by a Toyota sequoia for our gear. Is there enough space for this set-up or should I reserve a second campsite?

That campsite does allow two vehicles and up to 6 people. Not quite sure though if two 10-person tents will fit in the campsite area.

You can click on the Campground Map button to get an idea of which Buckeye Flat campsites are closest to the water. Basically sites 12-22 are closest.
Debating between site 19 and 24. Want more shade and close proximity to site 20 (where another friend will he staying. Wish there is info about how far is site 19 to site 20. Have 3 boys that could be noisy so worry site 24 area is quite crowded.

Both campsites 19 and 24 have nice shade. Campsite #20 is a handicap (ADA) site and you can see it when viewing the picture for campsite #24. Site #20’s picnic table (paved under table) is right behind campsite #24. You are correct that the camping area for #24 is close to the other sites (#20 and #27). Campsite #19 has a larger camping area and definitely more private (away from other sites). It’s also right across the road from campsite #20. You can click on the ‘campground map’ button to get an idea. I’d lean toward #19. Hope this helps!
Can you swim in the water? Kids play in water

There is a decent swimming hole just below Buckeye Flat Campground, but avoid the waterfalls and swift current elsewhere. The Middle Fork Kaweah River does get pretty high and fast in the spring and early summer months.
Which campsites are the most private? The most wooded?

It is closed and the first night you can stay this year is March 31 (reservations). It looks like there are about 18 sites available to reserve that night, but for only the night of March 31. The days/nights after that are reserved.
How close did the KNP fire get to the campground? Was the campground or surrounding trees burned? Also interested in recommendations for hikes near (<30min drive) the campground. Thanks.

Yes, the KNP fire did burn through the area (although the campground was saved). We don’t have a CampsitePhotos.com person in the area so not sure how many trees within the campground burned. Much of the forest (trees/shrub, etc.) were burned around the campground though.

Depending on the tent sizes, you should be able to fit two small tents in campsite #13 at Buckeye Flat.

Yes, you can have two tents in a campsite at Buckeye Flat campground. They just need to fit within the camping area of the site, and there are several that will work (for multiple tents).

Campsites 3, 4, 7, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 22, 23 24 and 25 should work fine for two small tents.

All the campsites at Buckeye Flat Campground have a maximum capacity of 1 vehicle and 6 people, so you can’t have any more than that at a particular campsite. The campsites with a bit more room (larger camping area) include 11, 14, 17, 22 and 27.
Are there any restrictions regarding car camping? I’ll be bringing my converted SUV and typically sleep in the car.
Not that I know of. You should be okay sleeping in your car in your designated campsite parking spur.
