Camp Three Campground is on the banks of the Upper Kern River about a mile north of Kernville. The campground has 52 sites for tents, trailers and RVs (up to 30 feet). There are also 3 nice large group sites available.

Several campsites are along the river and many also have shade from a variety of trees. The Camp 3 campsites also the river include 21, 23, 25, 27-30, 32-45 and 47.

Each campsite has a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grate. Several sits also have food storage lockers. Amenities include drinking water and vault toilets. Firewood is available for sale from the camp host.

Camp Three – Area Recreation

Besides rafting and kayaking, other outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, swimming, mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing. Fishing is extremely popular and the golden trout is highly sought after for catch and release fishing by fly fishermen.  Lake Isabella is also just 5 miles away and offers a variety of water sports.

The other 5 Upper Kern River campgrounds are: Headquarters, Limestone, Fairview, Gold Ledge and Hospital Flat. Thunderbird Group campground is also located just upriver and Halfway Group is located downriver.
