  1. Do the campsites have bear boxes for food?
    We arrive today

  2. Have their been any bear sightings at Cedar Bluff this summer? What is the recommended approach for food storage at the campsite?

    • Hi Chris,
Campsitephotos.com is not associated with the campgrounds listed on our website. We provide the campsite photos, campground description and link to reservations.
We are not sure of the bear activity at Cedar Bluff, but you can call to check: 559 642-3212.
Cedar Bluff campground does not have any bear/food storage lockers so your best alternative would be to store all food and/or items with any scent (like toothpaste, lip balm, etc.) in your car. Also cover any ice chests with a tarp. If there are bears that visit your campsite they may look in your car window. They are smart enough to know that food is usually in an ice chest so they might try to get to it (which would not be good for your vehicle).
Again, I would recommend calling the campground phone number and talk with someone there about bear activity, etc.

  3. If there are no bear locker for food and we sleep in the SUV along with the food inside, how safe are you? We are coming up in a couple of days.

    • Hi Cathy,
If there are bears in the area, they may be able to smell your food in the SUV. If they do smell the food, they may also try to get to the source. With that said, yelling or banging on pans will scare most bears away. There are bears in the Cedar Bluff campground area, but the activity has been minimal.

On the reservation options there is a limit of 10 ppl however i read that a quad site can accommodate up to 24. Will more than 10 ppl be allowed to a quad camp site?
