Doran Beach Campgrounds are very popular and located on a peninsula between Bodega Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The campground has 5 camping areas – Cove, Gull, Shell, Jetty and Miwok (tent only). The campground is located across the street from a large (2 mile long) sandy beach and has 128 single-family (mixed use) campsites – some offering great views of the water. It is strongly recommended you reserve your site up to a year in advance.

Our favorite Doran campsites are: 5, 23, 31, 33, 41, 44, 54, 58, 61, 67, 68, 70, 74, 79, 81, 87, 99, 104, 105, 113 and 122.

Doran campground roads and campsite pads are all paved. The campground has a RV dump station, flush toilets and showers, and each campsite has a table, fire ring and grill. In addition to the family campsites, Doran campground has hiker/biker campsites, group campsites, backcountry camping  and cabins are available.

Sonoma County Regional Park includes a beautiful  (2 mile long) sandy beach, picnic area, hiking and biking trails, wetlands and Doran campground. There are many outdoor recreational activities including water sports, boating, canoeing/kayaking, beachcombing, and wildlife viewing.

Bodega Dunes Campground is another option and is located about 4.5 miles north on Highway 1.

  1. Rodger Corbett says:

We camp at Doran 3 to 4 times a year and always enjoy our stay. Site #104 out on the jetty is the best in the park with an unobstructed view of the bay. Great place for kayaking, crabbing or just hanging out at the beach.

  2. Bill Quinlan says:

    Is there a Hike-Bike site(s) at Doran?

    1. Camp Ranger says:

      Hi Bill,

Yes there are hiker/biker campsites at Doran Beach Campgrounds.
