Dry Gulch Campground has 5 (tent-only) campsites right along the north side of the Merced River in the Sierra National Forest. The campground and campsites are well maintained. It’s also about 20 miles to Yosemite National Park (Village).

The primitive campground is open year-round and has vault toilets and trash collection. Water is not available so please bring your own. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host. Cell service is not available.

Campsites are for tent only and reservable (although site selection is first-come, first-serve). The tent camping areas are on the small side (up to a 10×10 foot tent at best). Parking is available (along Incline Road), but there’s a short walk to each campsite. Each site has a table, bear box/food storage locker (33″ wide x 18″ tall x 18″ long), fire ring and grill. You can have up  to 1 vehicle and 6 people per campsite. The campground is pet-friendly, but potty-break areas are limited and there’s ticks around.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking, river rafting, kayaking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The closest gas station and mini grocery store is about a 10 minute drive up the road.

Dirt Flat is another campground nearby.
