Faria Beach Park Campground is located right next to the Pacific Ocean on a rocky shoreline and sandy beach 7 miles northwest of Ventura. The campground has 38 campsites for tens and RVs. There are 4 full hookup RV sites (electric, water, sewer and cable TV). Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Check in is 12:00 PM and check out is 11:00 AM. Cell service is good.
Faria Beach Park – Area Recreation
The campground has a small playground, concession stand with snappy treats, drinking water, flush toilets and hot showers ($ – quarters). You can jump on a board to surf or throw a line in to fish, or fish from your board. Surf fishing isn’t to bad according to the locals. Pets are also welcome, but must be on a leash. Campsites 5 through 34 are all nice beachfront real estate.
Hobson Beach Park Campground (a few miles to the north) is a good alternative if Faria Beach Park is full. And you might also like Tapo Canyon Park in Ventura County.

Love the beach campsite!
Which are the best sites for 28′ motorhomes? I heard there were only a couple of motorhome sites.

You can click on the ‘Make A Reservation’ button to check availability, pricing and make a reservation at Faria Beach Park in Ventura County. I do not believe the County of Ventura takes camping reservations over the phone, but you could call them to confirm at: (805) 654-3951
I am trying to make a reservation but the website is glitchy so I left a message at (805) 654-3951. It says the campsite is “in my cart” but when I try to check out it says my cart is empty. Suggestions? Thanks!

How do you pay for showers? Does it take quarters??

I’m not sure if the showers at Faria Beach Park take quarters or tokens. If tokens, you’ll be able to purchase at camp store. Perhaps someone can comment and confirm – quarters or tokens.
We just returned from our first camping experience at Faria Beach. Based on the photos on this website, I reserved site #6. The photos for 5-7 all look the same, but they are not the same. Those three sites are side-by-side and parallel to the shore. The BEST site by far is site #7 which is right on the bluff overlooking the beach (where the car is in the photo). Site 6 is parallel to 7, and parallel to the shore – meaning if someone has a huge RV parked in #7, the view of the beach from #6 is limited (which was the case for us – we were in a tent). Site #5 is parallel to 7 and 6, about where the tree is shown in the photo. Again, you can still see the beach from #5, but it’s limited.
If you are a tent camper like us, be aware that the campsites at Faria are very narrow and the campground is overrun with RVs. I saw like 1 or 2 other tents and everything else was RVs. When we pulled up to our narrow little campsite, we had huge RVs on either side, so we felt like a tiny shed sandwiched between two skyscrapers. That being said, we were still able to see the ocean from our tent by situating our tent at the very front of our site. We also had a fantastic view of the beach when the RV in site #7 left — until the next massive RV came a few hours later.
Note: the camp store is closed on Monday and Tuesday, so plan accordingly (we found out the hard way). Also, you need quarters for the shower. We didn’t know to bring quarters so we had to use the surfer’s shower outdoors.
The biggest pros were: friendly people, beautiful beach, staff there daily keeping everything clean and tidy. We will probably come back, if we are lucky enough to score site #7. Site #8 would be a close second. Sites 9-34 all overlook the beach, but there are huge boulders so you can’t access the beach from those sites. The stairway to the beach is between sites 7 and 8, so the farther away from those, the farther you need to walk to access the beach.
