Horseshoe Meadow Equestrian campground is located at 10,000 feet and serves as the basecamp for hikers and horseback riders up to Cottonwood Lakes and Mt. Langley (one of California 14ers). There are 18 walk-in sites with tent pads, as well as 12 at large (walk-in) tent sites. Additionally there are ten equestrian sites, some with stalls, and all with tent pads.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVS. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring, grate and food storage locker. Campground amenities include drinking water and vault toilets. Roads and parking spurs are paved. Firewood is also available for sale from camp host. Because of it’s high elevation, the campground is usually open from early June through mid September. This campground is first-come, first-serve.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
