  1. There are no fire rings in the camp sites.

  2. the “swimming” area is a joke. It’s a filthy pond full of frogs. It’s just collected rain water. The hispanic looking “ranger” girl with too much makeup also has serious power trip issues. Tried to kick out my group because my dogs’ paws were in the water (not swimming) when it was 105 degrees outside. acted very childish and ghetto. no signs were posted that this pond didn’t allow dogs to swim. The map makes it look like it’s a nice beachy area to swim in, but don’t be fooled. It’s a pond with murky water. Lake McSwain is a 10 minute drive away and is the only campground I’d consider since you’re actually next to the lake. Definitely won’t be coming back here. Prices aren’t worth it. There are no fire rings or showers near A sites. Woodward reservoir is much better.
