Mountain Oak Campground has 17 single-family campsites in a nice forest of large pine trees. The campground has drinking water and vault toilets. Each campsite also has a fire ring and table. The campground is open mid-May to mid-November.  It is also close to Jackson Lake and many hiking trails in the San Gabriel Mountains.

Mountain Oak Campground is also close to Wrightwood (about 5 miles) should you need any supplies.

Outdoor recreation in the area includes: swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing biking, hiking, horseback riding, stargazing, wildlife viewing and picnicking.

Other campground options in the area include Table Mountain, Peavine and Apple Tree.
