Sonora Bridge Overview

Sonora Bridge campground has 23 spacious and private campsites scattered amidst the shade of towering Jeffrey pines in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. The campground is a short drive to the West Walker River and a picnic area near Tule Lake.

The first come, first serve campground is usually open in late April to early October. Amenities include a vault toilet, but no water. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. The camp host also sells firewood.

Sonora Bridge – Area Recreation

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

If you’re heading north up Highway 395, you may also want to check out Chris Flat or Bootleg campgrounds.

Water is Turned Off. The Well they drilled has bad water. I was told that they found Arsenic and Lead and they would not be turning the water back on. I do not know if they have plans for drilling a new well or doing nothing. I spoke to a ranger at the Bridgeport ranger district office to find out about this news.

    I wish someone would help find a solution to fixing the Lack Of Water Situation. I have camped at this campground and area for over 40 years. I hate to see the Lack Of Attention By The Humboldt Toiyabe National Forest. Such A Shame That this Campground wont see the funding It needs to be maintained properly!!!
