Union Reservoir East campground has 11 single-family campsites and is located on the shores of Union Reservoir in the Stanislaus National Forest.  All sites are first-come, first-serve.

The campground is usually open early June to late September. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill.

Amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. Water is not available. There’s also a small, primitive dirt boat launch at Union East campground. Cell service is not available.

Area Recreation & Activities

Both Utica and Union Reservoirs offer boating (5 mph or less), canoeing, kayaking, fishing and swimming. Utica Reservoir does not allow motorized watercraft. Other popular activities in the area include hiking, mountain biking, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Other campgrounds in the area include Spicer Reservoir, Sandy Flat, Rocky Point and Union West.
