    Are dogs allowed

  2. Are any of the camping cabins pet friendly?

  3. Carol Koppenheffer says:

I am trying to make a reservation for the Group Campsite Area 1 for July 9- 14, but cannot find where to do it on this website. I have a group of Camp Fire Counselor in Training teens (19 of them) plus 3 adult leaders.

    • Hi Carol, You can click on the ‘Make A Reservation’ button and that will direct you to the County of San Diego Park & Rec reservation page. I checked though and for your dates either it is already taken, or not showing up in their reservation system for some reason. You can also call them at: 877-565-3600

  4. I see on available campground sites it says “8 people max, 1 tent max.” Is this really the case? I have a group of 3 but we like to split into 2 very small 2-person backpacking tents. Would 2 small tents be allowed at the same site?

    • The campsites certainly have room for more than one tent. Not sure if it is a Covid restriction or not. You may try calling the park directly to confirm: 760-765-0650.

  5. Chris Carey says:

I, too, am having trouble navigating to Group Camp Site. How many can be in the group, what is the charge, and what dates are available?

    • Hi Chris,
If you click on the ‘Make A Reservation’ button you’ll be directed to the County of San Diego camping reservation page. From there you select ‘William Heise’, enter a date and scroll down the available campsite list. The youth group campsites will show up at the end (screen shot below). The two you group campsites can have up to 50 people per site. However, youth group camping is not available online. You need to call to reserve at: 877-565-3600.

  6. Site 43 at William Heise: is there room to park my car next to my 27 ft motorhome in this site?

    • Hi Arlene, Campsite #43 has a combined maximum vehicle length of 28 feet (although it does look longer). Unfortunately you would not be able to park your car along side (side-by-side) your RV as there isn’t enough room. And all wheels need to be on the paved parking surface.

  7. Scott Spencer says:

I just reserved site #59. It says no hook up. I plan to camp in a tent. Is that allowed in that site or must tents be in tent only sites

  8. Chris Mcknight says:

Me and my dog are staying in a tent campsite, but my family is at the cabin area. I saw it said no dogs allowed inside cabin, but may me and my dog have meals outside of the cabin with my family?

  9. Avree Martinez says:

    Hello,
I recently booked site 13 for my family. It’s an RV site, and we only have a tent, but we need the electric hook-up since we are traveling with our baby. But, our tent is rather large. Do you know how big the tent pad is, and what’s the largest tent it can accommodate?

  10. Kazuko Tamson says:

Can you see the milky way and how good can you see the stars i got a telescope and im hoping to see the milky way

  11. Hi – I am having a hard time seeing how many can sleep in each cabin. We have a reservation for cabin #2. Where can I find that info? THank you!
