The Yosemite Valley Backpackers Camp is located behind North Pines campground and has 5 large campsites that can accommodate several backpackers per site. Tenaya Creek also runs past the campsites and the Merced River is close by.

Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grate. There’s also vault toilets, but no potable water. Drinking water is available nearby in North Pines campground. You can park for 15 minutes at the entrance  in North Pines campground to unload gear, you must park your vehicle overnight at the trailhead parking or at Curry Village parking.

The campground is available for wilderness permit holders to spend one night before and one night after a wilderness trip. Reservations are not necessary or required. However, a valid wilderness permit is required for backpackers to stay at the campground. Half Dome day hiker permit holders may not stay at the backpackers campground.  Visitors arriving by bike or foot may also spend one night.
