Mancos State Park has two campgrounds (Main and West) located next to Jackson Gulch Reservoir and surrounded by the beautiful San Juan mountain range. We have the photos of the Main campground (sites 1 – 24A).  Campsites at Main Campground can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Campsites at West campground (sites 25-33 are primarily for tent camping) Each site has a table, fire ring and grate.

Campground amenities include drinking water and valet toilets at Main, and vault toilets (no water) at West. A dump station is also located at the exit of Main Campground, boat ramp and picnic area. Check in time is 2pm and check out is 12pm.

Mancos State Park – Area Recreation

Mancos State Park is southwest Colorado’s hot spot for excellent fishing, hiking and mountain biking. Other activities include boating, kayaking, canoeing, water skiing, jet skiing, swimming, picnicking, horseback riding, hunting, OHVing and wildlife viewing. In the winter you can also enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and ice fishing.

You may also be interested in Morefield Campground in Mesa Verde National Park. Molas Lake Park & Campground and Haviland Lake Campground are also nice.

    Have not been as of yet but want to take my granddaughter for weak-end camping for her birthday & would like to know what a “YURT” is?

    • Hi Sidney,
      There are two campsites with Yurts at Mancos State Park. A Yurt is a round tent with a wooden frame and wood floor. It also has a door, skylights and windows. They can sleep up to 6 people, have electric outlets and a ceiling lights, one pair of twin-sized bunks, a double-sized futon and queen-size futon. You’ll need to bring your own linens/bedding. They do not have water or bathrooms. Propane gas heaters are available for rent at the park. Here’s a picture of a yurt at campsite #24:
