Matterhorn Campground has 28 campsites (8 with full hookups) and is adjacent to Highway 145 near Telluride, CO. Most campsite have great views of the surrounding mountains. Some of the sites are walk-to tent only (12, 13 and 14) and about 100 to 150 feet from parking area. Lake Fork Creek also runs past the campground.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 45 feet). The full hookup sites are 5, 7, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26. Each site also has a table, lantern post, fire ring and grill.  Campground amenities include drinking water, vault, flush, hot-water showers and trash collection. Cell service is poor in the area. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host.

Other campgrounds in the area include Silver Jack, Mary E, Sunshine, Cayton and Priest Lake.

Matterhorn Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking,  OHV trail riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Campers can also check out the many shops, restaurants and attractions of nearby Telluride, CO.
