At Ranger Lakes campground in State Forest State Park you can get your rugged outdoor on and explore 71,000 acres of forest, jagged peaks, alpine lakes, wildlife and miles of trails. Ranger Lakes campground has 32 electric sites just a short walk from the lake and fishing area.

The campground is well shaded by lodgepole and spruce pine trees. There is drinking water, vault toilets, a dump station, visitor center and amphitheater.  You can reserve campsites from mid-June through September, and first-come first-served (weather permitting) during the winter.  Customers should contact the park for current conditions and campground closures.

Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grate, You can stay up to 14 days during a 45 day period (and they can be consecutive). Six people and two vehicles are allowed per campsite. Pets are allowed (on leash). Generators are allowed from 10AM to 10PM. Firewood is also available for sale.

Outdoor activities in the area include boating, water sports, fishing, canoeing, kayaking,backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, horseback riding, hunting and winter sports (ice fishing, snow shoeing, snow sledding, snowmobiling).

Bockman and North Michigan are two other campgrounds in State Forest State Park.

75 miles west of Ft. Collins on Highway 14, over Cameron Pass. You can also get to the campground from the Walden area. From Highway 125 in Walden, head east on Highway 14.
