Calamity Campground has 41 campsites and is located on a hillside above Palisades Reservoir along the Snake River drainage. A mixed forest of pine, spruce, fir, aspen and maple provide shade to most campsites.

Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. Campsites are arranged in 3 loops (A, B & C) and can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Loop C sites are for tent only (no RVs or trailer towed vehicles allowed). Some sites also have stairs to the table/fire ring area. Cell service is good in the area.

Calamity – Area Recreation

The Palisades Reservoir offers boating, water skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and fishing. A boat ramp is also located close the campground. The Palisades Creek Trail nearby for hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders. Other activities include picnicking and wildlife viewing. Grand Teton National Park is also about 65 miles away.
