Mount Heyburn is another popular campground (with 20 campsites) in the Sawtooth National Forest next to Redfish Lake.   Campsites parking spurs are paved and most are fairly large. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring, grate and food storage locker.

The campground is first-come, first-serve and amenities include drinking water and vault toilets. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate.  There’s also a visitor center, interpretive programs, equestrian stables, boat rentals and an RV dump station nearby. Cell service is not available in the area.

Mount Heyburn Area Recreation

Mount Heyburn campground is located in the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area and has a variety of outdoor recreation activities. Redfish Lake has some great fishing for trout and wild cutthroat. You can also enjoy canoeing, kayaking, sailing, waterskiing, and swimming.  Other outdoor recreation includes hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, picnicking, horseback riding, hunting and wildlife viewing.

Other campgrounds in the area include Sockeye, Glacier View, Redfish Outlet, Chinook Bay and Mountain View.
