Historic Lake Scott State Park is hidden in a canyon in the western Kansas prairie and has 155 campsites spread out in several camping areas. The Circle Drive camping area has 40 reservable sites with water & electric hookups. The other camping areas do not have hookups and are first-come, first-serve. There’s is also a horse camping area with equestrian facilities. Two modern cabins are also available to rent.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets and showers.
The Park offers an oasis of natural springs, deep wooded canyons and early American history. There are also more than 26 archeological sites, including the remains of the Native American pueblo – El Cuartelejo (a National Historic Landmark).
Visitors can enjoy boating, swimming, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
