Susquehanna State Park Comments & Reviews

Visited Susquehanna State Park Campground lately? We'd love to hear about your adventure. Did you find us useful? Did we forget something? Anything our community should know before heading out to Susquehanna State Park?

19 Comments on “Susquehanna State Park”

  1. Randall Smeltzer says:

We reserved a site with no electric , they were all reserved. Is it ok to run a generator shorty during day to charge camper battery?

  2. Would I be able to bring and use my portable charcoal grill at the campground or picnicking area?

  3. krista fassio says:

Are there still seasonal pass/reservations for the campgrounds – with hookups?

    • Hi Krista,

We’re not sure about the seasonal pass reservations at Susquehanna State Park. You may try calling the park directly at: 410-734-9035, or you can click on the ‘Make A Reservation’ button to check availability, pricing and make reservations.

  4. Tom Rollman says:

We’d like to bring our inflatable kayak and paddle boards for the kids. Are there places on the river within 10 miles or so to use them?

    • Hi Tom,
At Susquehanna State Park you can launch your canoe or kayak near the parking lot at the bottom of Lapidum Road (on the north side of the road after you exit off I-95).You can drop your kayaks at the ramp and then park across the road. There is a fee to park in the lot. Also, there are several beaches in the park you can launch from and there are some launches at the north end of town just north of the railroad bridge. Look for the Stark Moon Kayaks (rentals) just south o the launch area.

  5. Do you have firewood for sale at the campground?

  6. How is the river flow for kayaking? Can I put in and paddle upstream and return to my original put in spot or do I need to go with the flow and have a pick up vehicle down river?

    • Hi Paula,
The river is flowing at about 3,300 cubic feet per second and should be good for kayaking. Not sure about paddling upstream though. You can click HERE for current river flow info. I recommend calling the park office to see what they think: 410-734-9035

  7. I just received an email saying my campsite (62) is “Walk-In Only”. How far away do I have to park my car from my site? I thought all of them were drive up.

    • Hi Megan,
Campsite #62 has parking for two vehicles and up to 6 people can stay in the site (designated for tents). There is a short walk from your vehicles to the tent pad/table area . . . maybe about 50 feet.

  8. We plan to reserve a camp site to stay for the night. Can we just drive our car to the camp and sleep in the car?

  9. lee Kass says:

is there a cabin to rent

    • Hi Lee,
Yes there are 6 ‘mini’ cabins you can rent at Susquehanna State Park. You can click on the ‘Make A Reservation’ button to check availability, pricing and reserve.
