Bay Furnace Campground is located right along the shores of Lake Superior and has 49 campsites available. Some campsites are lakefront and many have great views of the sunrise and sunset over Lake Superior. Most campsites are reservable, but there are also first-come, first-serve sites. The reservable campsites include 1, 4, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 30, 31, 32, 33, 37, 38, 40, 42, 43, 44, 46, 38, and 50.

The campground is generally open mid May to mid October. Check-in time is 2pm and check-out is 11am. Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets, dump station and trash collection. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. Generators are okay to use from about 7am to 10pm. Cell service is good.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, water sports, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The town of Munising is nearby with shops and stores. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is also nearby.
