Nerstrand Big Woods State Park Campground has 51 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs (up to 60 feet). There are 27 sites with 30-amp electric hookups, 4 walk-in campsites and 3 group campsites. Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grill. The campground has drinking water, flush toilets, shower and a dump station (all available arly May through mid October). There’s also a playground and overflow parking. The campground (and Park) is open year round (but only 7 of the 51 sites are available in the winter).
Our favorite campsites at Nerstrand Big Woods State Park are: 3, 14, 15, 19, 20, 22, 29, 37, 41, 48 and 50.
Nerstrand Big Woods State Park – Area Recreation
Nerstrand Big Woods State Park offers visitors the chance to view beautiful wildflowers in the spring and fantastic colors in the fall. Winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy cross-country skiing and snowmobiling . Miles of hiking and biking trails are also located throughout the Park. Hiking to Hidden Falls is a must, if you can find them (being hidden and all). Also, don’t forget to stop by the Visitor Center to learn more about the Park and the many adventures that await.
Sakatah Lake State Park is another option for camping and outdoor fun. It’s about 25 miles to the West via MN-60 West.

I would like to reserve an RV camp site (small one) for the weekend of June 1-3 2018.
How do i go about doing this?

How can to talk to a person at Nerstand about a reserved campsite? I tried to the phone number, but I only received the run around. We need to make some adjustments in the reservation. Thank you.

Have a great time at Nerstrand Big Woods State Park! Don’t forget to hike to Hidden Falls if you have the time. You’ll enjoy the hike and Hidden Falls – if you can find them (being hidden and all).
I am frustrated in the fact that I put in a date for August 21 and 22nd and it doesn’t show what sites for an RV are available. So do I have to go through every site to see if it’s available? I will be calling in the morning to talk to a live person. Deborah

If you enter Nerstrand Big Woods State Park and your arrival date (and nights to stay), the Minnesota State Parks reservation site will display if any campsites are available (green highlight). I checked and the campground is sold out for Aug 21 arrival for two nights. You can try calling them at 866-857-2757. We have one small problem we can’t remember what sites we stayed in last year or the other ones we liked and we can’t find pictures of the sites anywhere and there are no numbers on the photos you have here. We loved it here we stayed here last year going to and from North Dakota and would love to stay again, and probably a few years to come too!!
