South Kawishiwi River Campground has 31 campsites and is located next to the river in a forested setting.
All but campsites 15-20 and 25 have electrical hookups. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Amenities include drinking water (solar powered well / hand pump), vault toilets, trash collection and overflow parking. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host. A group pavilion (up to 35 people) is also available and has a large grill, picnic tables and electricity.
Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, bird watching, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Canoe rentals are also available.
Other campgrounds in the area include Birch Lake, McDougal Lake and Fall Lake.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kawishiwi Campground. The manager was very helpful! He helped us find a site with electricity so we could stay longer! The trees are beautiful! Huge white pine. The walk along the shore great and there is a pavilion that can be rented.
