Johnson’s Shut Ins State Park campground has 80 single-family campsites in the beautiful St. Francois Mountains. The campground offers basic, electric, full hookup and equestrian sites (with water & electric). Campsites can be reserved, but there area also first-come, first-serve sites available. Sites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Cabins and special use camping are also available.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers ($), laundry facilities and a dump station. There’s also a camp store, amphitheater, camp host and playground. Firewood is also available for sale at the park.

Johnson’s Shut Ins State Park – Area Recreation

Visitors can enjoy splashing about in the East Fork of the Black River, shoot through the hydraulics in the shut ins. Be sure to visit the Black River Visitor Center for all the information about the geology of the area. Other outdoor recreation includes swimming, hiking, biking, fishing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

    Great campground Full hookup. This park is awesome.
    Spotty ATT cell. Wifi at campstore is only adiquate at best. Would defiantly recommend this park.
