Half Moon campground has 12 single-family campsites and is located at the Big Timber Creek trailhead in the Custer-Gallatin National Forest. The popular campground is first-come, first-serve and campsites have spectacular views of the Crazy Mountains.
Campground amenities include drinking water and vault toilets. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, climbing, horseback riding, ATV, mountain biking and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also great in the area.
