Fishermen's Bend Recreation Site and campground were burned in August and September of 2020. It has limited day use open. No camping or dump station is available. The campground may not open again until 2024.

Fishermen’s Bend Recreation Site Campground includes 170 acres along the North Santiam River among a forest of Douglas fir, hemlock and cedar trees. With 63 campsites, there are 2 cabins, 6 group, and a few tent campsites. There are two loops in the campground (C and R) and we have photos of the ‘C’ loop.

All campsites have electric and sewer hookups. Some of the sites have full hookups (electric, water and sewer).  Each campsite also has a table, fire ring, and grill. The campground has drinking water, flush toilets, showers, RV dump station, campfire center, recreation fields, playground, and a visitor center.   There’s also an amphitheater, boat ramp, picnic/day-use area, basketball and volleyball courts, horseshoe pit, group camping and firewood for sale. Cell service is good.

Outdoor activities include: fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, biking and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also pretty good here!

Silver Falls State Park is another nice option for camping. The Park is about 45 minutes away and has 10 waterfalls ranging in height from the 27 foot Drake Falls to the 177 foot South Falls.

I just received a phone call from Fisherman’s Bend regarding the reservation we placed nearly a year ago 8/22/16 for 8/20-22/17… The lady made it sound like she wanted us to cancel our reservation.

Because there is a gate to control entry, she also said nobody allowed in before 2pm or after 10pm but the traffic will be horrible. Okay, I get that.
She said to not be surprised if cell service and power go down.
Making quite an effort to discourage reservation holders but no effort to work with them. Have you never been fully booked before? Not able to set an extra person up at the gate to turn around non-reservation holders? Not able to hold reservations for people who have them, who might not make it on time the first night? Not able to hold reservations for people who have cell service go down on them and are unable to call in? Come on… I know you would have loved to have me cancel so that you could resell my cabin at $$$$.

Just to reiterate, we are coming and do not cancel on us.

    • Hi Brandy, That’s too bad about your recent experience with Fisherman’s Bend. Just wanted to let you know though that CampsitePhotos.com is not affiliated with any of the campgrounds listed on our site. We provide the campsite photos, reservation link and a little more info about the campground/area.

I love that you have pictures of camp sites. It makes it so much easier when reserving a spot at a campground that I might not have been at, before. Would be nice if there were photos posted of the Group Sites at the campgrounds. I can’t ever find any pictures for them and those are the sites that we are interested in. It’s just a thought.

    • Hi Yeteve, Thanks for the kinds comments! And good idea about getting photos of the group campsites. We have some – at a few of the campgrounds, but need to start photographing all group campsites.

      • Just a note that Fishermen’s Bend has two loops, the River Loop (R) and the Camp Loop (C). All of your photos are of the Camp Loop and should be designated as C01, C02, C03, etc. It doesn’t appear you have any photos of the River Loop (R01, R02, R03, etc.) Otherwise, anyone wanting to see a photo of R04 will be vastly disappointed in the photo they see in C04 (R04 is much nicer). The main difference between the loops is that the River loop has Electric and Sewer, but no water (although you can fill up your tanks at the check-in station).

      • Hi Yeah,
Thanks so much for pointing that out. We made a note of it – that we have campsites of the ‘C’ loop at Fishermens Bend campground. And we will rename each photo with a ‘C’.

Do you have a sit map?

  5. With all the trees gone and the rest lying around it sure has changed the beautiful camp[

  6. Brandon Race says:

The camp site are no longer private sense they cut all the trees down? Please respond, because I heard its ugly now?

    • Hi Brandon,
Our Fishermens Bend campsite photos are recent – taken in September 2019. They reflect how the campsites/campground looks. The campground does trim trees and may remove a few that are deemed hazardous, but for the most part – there are many trees throughout the campground/area.
