Looking to come this direction from Las Vegas,
Not finding too much on bears, I know we should be aware but how frequent are they at Poole Creek campground. Also what are the limitaions as far as trails and pets in the area

    Theresa

    • Hi Theresa,
Bears are usually not a problem at Poole Creek campground. Pets are allowed in the campground (on a leash), but we’re not sure about not the trails. You may want to call the campground directly regarding latest bear activity and/or pets on the trails: 541-498-2531

  4. Wondering how mosquitoes are in mid August at Lemolo Lake/Poole Creek campground. We want to come prepared. 🙂

  5. Another question for our family that’s coming in a few weeks…what is the water like temperature wise in mid-August? Also, we’re wondering how the lake water is for swimming as far as “stuff” in the water goes…can you swim around easily or are there a lot of water plants that will wrap around your feet and such? Thanks much for the help! 🙂

  6. Hi Ruth,
We’re not sure about the current water conditions of Lemolo Lake. My guess is that the water temp is low 70s. You might try calling the campground to see if they have more info: 541-498-2531

    • Thanks for the information. Most of our family has never been and this site has been so helpful. We’re really looking forward to being together and knowing what to expect is great!

  7. Will mosquitoes still be fierce in late August?

  8. Cindy Rejda says:

This will be a first for us. Wondering what the nearest store would be if we needed anything or should I plan on making sure we have enough for the whole week.

    • Hi Cindy,
Diamond Lake has a gas station/convenience store, and the Diamond Lake Resort has a small store. Diamond Lake is about 11 miles away. The town of Chemult has a small store, gas, etc. It is about 42 miles away. Have fun on your first camping trip to Poole Creek!
