Cosby campground is located in Great Smoky Mountains National Park and has 157 campsites in a beautiful forest at an elevation of about 2,500 feet.  More than 100 sites are first-come first-serve and 42 are reservable. Most of the campsites are for tents, but there are also some RV sites available. Each site has plenty of shade, a table, fire ring and grill. Campers enjoy great fishing in the streams and nearby rivers. There are also numerous trails to hike and wildlife to see. The campground has drinking water, flush toilets and a dump station. Cell service is not available in the area.

It’s a very popular destination for hiking, backpacking and fishing.  The Park is renowned for its diversity of plant and animal life, the beauty of its mountains, and South Appalachian mountain culture.  Some of the outdoor recreation opportunities at Great Smoky Mountains National Park include: auto touring, bicycling, camping, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and picnicking. There are also many historic sites and buildings you can explore in the area.

Deep Creek campground is another option. It’s about 68 miles away and has 92 mix-used campsites.
