Elkhorn Campground has 7 single-family campsites and is located in Fishlake National Forest at an elevation of 9,300 feet.  One group campsite is also available. A thick stand of aspen, pine, and spruce trees covers the campground, offering pleasant shade. Summer wildflowers are abundant in the surrounding meadow.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Up to 2 vehicles and 10 people allowed for single-family campsites. The group campsite can have up to 10 vehicles and 75 people. Campground amenities include drinking water and vault toilets. Cell service is not available in the area.

Other campgrounds in the area include Sunglow, Fruita (Capitol Reef National Park) and Singletree.

Outdoor recreation in the area include OHV trail riding, mountain biking, hiking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
